Global e-commerce giant Alibaba has reportedly acquired HungryNaki, a local food delivery organization at around Tk 8 crore, to strengthen its impression in Bangladesh. The company is sold to Daraz, Alibaba’s e-commerce subsidiary

Established in 2013, HungryNaki is the first on-demand food delivery organization in Bangladesh. The organization is serving more than 500,000 customers across Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Cox’s Bazar, and Narayanganj through its network of over 4,000 restaurants.

Previously Alibaba invested in Bangladesh by gaining the largest online shopping organization Daraz in 2018.  In the same year, Alipay, the Chinese mobile payment giant owned by Alibaba Group, purchased 20 percent stakes in Bangladesh’s largest MFS provider bKash Limited.
