Amazon pays Tk 53 lakh in VAT

The global E-commerce giant has filed Tk 53 lakh VAT to the revenue authority. Amazon Web Services Inc. which is a subsidiary of Amazon also paid Tk 3.52 crore as indirect tax for the services it provided to the customers in Bangladesh. Amazon registered for VAT in May 2021. Earlier the company only used to pay indirect tax as it used to be deducted when customers used to pay for taking services.
