Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL) and Unilever Consumer Care Limited (UCL) have contributed a total of Tk 75,926,893 to the Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Foundation Fund to support the welfare of workers and their families across the country as stated in the Press Release.
Of this amount, Unilever Bangladesh Limited contributed Tk 70,758,520, while Unilever Consumer Care Limited contributed Tk 5,168,373.
The funds were handed over through two separate cheques to Minister of Labour and Employment Ariful Haque Chowdhury, MP. On behalf of their respective organisations, the cheques were handed over by Ruhul Quddus Khan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of Unilever Bangladesh Limited; Syeda Durdana Kabir, HR Director of Unilever Bangladesh; and Mohammad Naharul Islam Molla, Managing Director of Unilever Consumer Care Limited. Senior officials from both organisations were also present on the occasion.
The Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Foundation has been working to provide financial assistance for medical treatment, education, as well as various emergency needs of workers and their families. Through their contribution to this fund, UBL and UCL continue their partnership in the social security and welfare initiatives for the country’s working people.
Unilever Bangladesh and Unilever Consumer Care reaffirmed their commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to promote the welfare of working people in Bangladesh, while ensuring safety, dignity and an inclusive workplace environment.
