BRAC Bank partners with MasterCard to take another step towards women empowerment | ‘MasterCard Tara World’2 min read

Taking another bold step into women empowerment, BRAC banks, in a partnership with MasterCard, launched a premium segment to their TARA Banking segment. The launch took place through a virtual event conducted on the 8th of September, announcing this super-premium credit card.

The Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank, Mr.Selim Rf Hussain, carried out the announcement, launching this service “for women, who are constantly paving their way in their personal and professional careers in Bangladesh.”

He further stated that the opening of this segment stood firm with the women empowerment beliefs TARA and BRAC Bank stand for. Thus, providing multiple opportunities for women, allowing them to be independent, self-reliant, and confident.

The card and its abilities stand firm with the ideas laid down by BRAC bank and those of MasterCard, providing women with financial independence, exclusive benefits, and a premium payment experience.

Benefits talked about during the announcement include:


Welcome benefits such as; Cashbacks, 50% waived annual fees (for the first year), and rewards on transactions. Cardholders are allowed rewards on parlor transactions, jewelry stores, e-commerce portals, grocery, and clothing within the welcome package.

Furthermore, the card comes attached with lucrative health packages, a 6x rewards system linked to grocery purchases every Saturday, and travel expenditures expandable towards the family.

Other special discounts will include BOGO (Buy One Get One) offers exploitable within exclusive restaurants, dining, hotels, and other 5000 plus partners in Bangladesh. Moreover, the super-premium TARA world card is a must-have for frequent travelers. The card offers complimentary access to the Balaka Lounge; the bank offers seven complimentary visits into the Priority Pass Lounge for travelers traveling alongside companions. And speaking of companions, the bank also offers two free supplementary cards.

 Within the event, the country manager of MasterCard, Mr. Syed Mohammad Kamal, stated that ”MasterCard supports initiatives to unlock powerful ideas that open the world’s possibilities to women.” And he states that the alliance with BRAC bank and the launch of ‘MasterCard Tara World’ would help take a step in that direction.
