Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL), the country’s leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, has been recognized as the ‘Most Sustainable Company of the Year’ in Bangladesh. The company has also received the ‘Most Sustainable FMCG Company of the Year’ award, as stated in the press release.

For over 60 years, this 39.25% government-owned FMCG (Consumer Goods) company has not only been producing and delivering international-standard consumer goods but has also made significant contributions to improving quality of life, driving social progress, and preserving the environment. Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL) has been strategically contributing to 13 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations and has positively impacted the lives of approximately 120 million people since 2020.

In addition to being honored as the ‘Most Sustainable Company’ at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2025, Unilever Bangladesh received awards in six additional categories. Organized by Bangladesh Brand Forum, the initiative saw Unilever Bangladesh achieve the highest number of recognitions overall.

Unilever Bangladesh has been recognized across multiple categories for its impactful and significant projects. In the ‘Sustainable Partnerships and Institutions’ category, the company was awarded for its project “Domex and Bhumijo’s Fight Against Poor Sanitation.” Under the ‘Sustainable Community’ category, it received recognition for “Empowering the Youth in Volunteerism,” while in the ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’ category, the project “Waste Workers’ Livelihood Enhancement in Chattogram” earned accolades. Furthermore, Unilever Bangladesh received ‘Honorable Mentions’ in the ‘Responsible Consumption and Production’ category for “Responsible Sourcing for a Greener Tomorrow,” and in the ‘Climate and Environment category’ for “Sustainability in Motion: Towards a Greener Tomorrow.”

In recognition of its significant contributions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh, Unilever Bangladesh received these honors at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2025, held during the Bangladesh Sustainable Summit.

The awards were received by Zinnia Tanzina Huq, Chief Financial Officer & Finance Director of Unilever Bangladesh, along with other senior officials, in the presence of distinguished experts, corporate leaders, and development partners.

It is worth noting that Unilever Bangladesh also received multiple accolades in various categories at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2024. The company’s efforts go beyond business success; they reflect a deep and enduring commitment to long-term social transformation and sustainable development. Its repeated recognition through these prestigious awards stands as a clear testament to that dedication.
