Shajgoj raises Tk21 crore from Sequoia Capital India1 min read
Bangladeshi beauty and personal care startup Shajgoj has recently secured Tk 21crore seed funding from Sequoia Capital India – a venture capital firm that invests in consumer, technology, and healthcare.
SBK Tech Venture, one of pioneer tech focused VC based in Bangladesh also joined in the round.
Shajgoj and 10 Minute School, two local startups have been selected for Sequoia Capital’s prestigious accelerator program, Surge. A total of 20 startups from South-East Asia, including two from Bangladesh, were selected for this years Surge Accelerator cohort.
Shajgoj will use the money to acquire more customers, open more outlets and offer more international brands on their platform. The female focused company is on a path to exponential growth and grew double in revenue in OND quarter last year.
Shajgoj boasts 70% returning customers with exceptional customer experience. The platform is offering curated authentic products from 400+ local and international brands with flat delivery charge all over the country.
Started in 2013 with just content site, Shajgoj created thousands of original beauty and personal care related content before foraying into physical store based retailing.
Finally, in 2018 Shajgoj launched their e-commerce and has seen a meteoric raise. Before this founding round Shajgoj raised funds from Singapore based angel, BRAC – Osiris impact venture and Ahan Investment PTE Limited.
