Rupali Chowdhury Named CIP Once Again2 min read

Rupali Haque Chowdhury, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd (BPBL), has been prestigiously recognized as a Commercially Important Person (CIP) (Industry) by the Government.

She has received this for her commendable leadership as the President of FICCI for the year 2021. The accolade celebrates the remarkable performance and invaluable contributions of industry pioneers, who have played a significant role in the nation’s economic growth.

The grand ceremony, held at the InterContinental Dhaka on recently, witnessed the presentation of the award to Rupali Chowdhury by Dr. Muhammad Abdur Razzaque MP, the Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture. The event was graced by Dr. Muhammad Abdur Razzaque MP, the Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, who attended as the Chief Guest. Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun MP, Minister of the Ministry of Industries; Kamal Ahmed Majumder MP, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industries; and Md. Jashim Uddin, President of FBCCIs, were present as Special Guests. The event was chaired by Zakia Sultana, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries.

Expressing her gratitude upon receiving the award, Rupali Chowdhury stated, “As the guardian of industrial establishments, the Ministry of Industries can act as a one-stop service center for approval of various industry-friendly laws and regulations. Coordination between different ministries can ease and pacify our operational processes”. “There should also be opportunity for heads of multinational organizations established through foreign investment to get recognition as CIP. As a result, they will be encouraged to contribute more to the economy of Bangladesh in the future,” she added.

In alignment with its ‘Vision 2041’, the Government of Bangladesh has been actively encouraging commercial leaders and industry experts to foster innovation within their respective sectors. To expedite this process, the Government has the provision to designate a maximum of 60 Commercially Important Persons from large, medium, and small-scale industries. CIPs get exclusive national facilities, which contribute to their ongoing success. Rupali Chowdhury, renowned for her exemplary roles as the MD of Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd and President of FICCI, has previously received this prestigious recognition eight times.
