The annual demand for ACs rose up to 20% on average in the last 6 years. Key producers reported huge growth is sales, with Samsung posting a 300% higher sales in April. Walton posted a 450% growth in January to April period of this year compared to the last year.

Sales also rocketed 250 percent for Esquire Electronics and 100 percent for Pran-RFL’s Vision brand.

Retailers say the sales figure of ACs may reach up to seven lakh units in 2021 due to the hotter temperature compared to the previous year. The market size may expand to Tk 5,000 crore this year, from Tk 4,500 crore in 2019.
