But have you ever thought about the idea that allows you to promote one of your services through the brand ambassador of your main competitor in the market? Pathao has done this something brilliant like that recently!
It all started with Pathao sponsoring Dhaka Dynamites along with Beximco for this year’s season of Bangladesh Premier League for the t-shirt (chest) category. Being one of the sponsors of Dhaka Dynamites, Pathao had the luxury to make a commercial with the participation of Dhaka Dynamites players. No one would miss the opportunity and Pathao has promoted their food delivery service with their recent commercial starring three players of Dynamites- Zazai, Birch and our very own Shakib Al Hasan. Yes, folks! The catch here is that Shakib is the brand ambassador for UBER in Bangladesh and with no surprise UBER is the main competitor for Pathao.
So, when you can somehow make the ambassador of your prime competitor praise one of your services, it is something to boast about. Reminds me of the Payless example last year when they made the fancy influencers to talk about their discount footwear. Probably, with this one stunt, Pathao has just made the best out of their sponsorship expenditure.
