Samsung presents Marxcellence 2022 in association with Intelligent Machines, organized by the Marketing and International Business Club of North South University, which was recently held to acquaint undergraduate students with the practical side of digital marketing through first-hand experience and prepare them for future challenges. Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden served as the hospitality partner for this grand event.

Held at a South-Asian regional level, participants from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh had shown their skills at different rounds of the event. MarXcellence 2022 made history with 553 teams comprising more than 2000 students from 60+ institutions registering. There were 3 unique and challenging rounds for the participants to put their marketing mettle to the test and showcase their skills. The first 2 rounds were held virtually online and the Grand Finale took place on the North South University premises on April 24th.

The Grand Finale had Mr. Hwansung Woo, Managing Director and Country Manager of Samsung Electronic Bangladesh, Title Sponsor of MarXcellence 2022 as Chief Guest. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of digital marketing and the role of the youth in today’s digital transformation.

“We are on the brink of the 4th industrial revolution and digital marketing has turned out to be a game-changer. I feel very proud that the youth are very passionate about digital marketing and this event itself attests to this fact.”

The event comprised three rounds and two workshops. Each round tested the participants’ knowledge of real-life based marketing case problems and developed their skills in three key aspects of marketing – promotion, sales, and branding. Additionally, the participants were guided and groomed throughout the event through two workshops conducted by digital marketing specialists and industry experts. The workshops gave the participants the opportunity to take a step closer to the corporate world and create valuable connections for the future.

The first, second, and third-place winners received prize money of BDT 1,00,000, BDT 60,000, and BDT 40,000 respectively. Adding to that, all the members of the top three teams earned themselves an opportunity to be fast-tracked to the prestigious Robi Internship Program. Team SINBAD N CO from the University of Dhaka secured the Championship title with Team Freaks and Greeks from the University of Rajshahi landing the 1st Runners Up position and Team Gameplan from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) following close with the 2nd Runners Up position.
