The 12th Batch of the Department of Banking & Insurance at the University of Chittagong is proud to announce “CU Budget Fest 2026,” scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2026. Running from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Faculty Premises, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Chittagong, this transformative event is designed to translate the complexities of national fiscal policy into an engaging, everyday experience for the general public as stated in the Press Release.
The festival aims to ignite a wave of economic literacy that reaches far beyond the university campus. The event centers on an interactive exhibition featuring 100 student competitors divided into 10 specialized teams. These young minds will take the national budget 2026-27 of Bangladesh and break it down across 10 themes, presenting it in poster form to show exactly how macroeconomic decisions shape the daily lives, welfare, and future of ordinary citizens.
“Our mission extends far beyond academic growth; it is a matter of national responsibility and civic empowerment,” said Md. Mufidur Rahman, Lecturer of the Department of Banking and Insurance and Convener of CU Budget Fest 2026. “To build a truly resilient, self-reliant, and economically empowered nation, the general public must feel connected to the state’s economic vision. By transforming the national budget into accessible language, our students are bridging the gap between national policymakers and the grassroots level, fostering a financially transparent and inclusive society.”
The prestige and national significance of the event are underscored by the presence of highly distinguished academic leaders. The festival will be graced by:
- Chief Guest: Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Amin, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic), University of Chittagong.
- Special Guests: Prof. Dr. Md. Safiqul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin), and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Saleh Jahur, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Chittagong.

- Engaging Storytelling: Teams will utilize vibrant infographics, video content, and rapid pitches to demonstrate how macroeconomic shifts directly support everyday citizens.
