BRAC Bank’s women’s banking segment, TARA, organized a Digital Skill Development Workshop styled ‘UddogTARA’ for women entrepreneurs focused on enhancing their digital business skills, said a press release.

A total of 70 aspiring women entrepreneurs participated in the daylong workshop.

This first-of-its-kind workshop shows the bank’s commitment to empowering promising women business owners with the skills and knowledge needed to run a business on a digital platform.

The workshop featured two key sessions addressing common challenges entrepreneurs face, such as maintaining accurate business accounts and effectively promoting their businesses.

Syed Abdul Momen, Deputy Managing Director and Head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, inaugurated the workshop at Dhaka’s head office on August 28, 2024. Khadija Mariam, Head of Women Entrepreneur Cell, SME Banking at BRAC Bank was also present.

One session focused on digital accounting services through hands-on training by the popular mobile ERP app ‘sManager,’ while the other covered digital marketing strategies and tools to effectively promote the participants’ businesses online, expanding their market reach and customer base, led by renowned digital marketing expert Munaf Mojib Chowdhury.

A special highlight of the event was the provision of a one-year free subscription to the ‘sManager’ app for all attendees, courtesy of BRAC Bank TARA. The Gates Foundation provided overall support.

This initiative aligns with BRAC Bank’s ongoing efforts to empower women entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed in emerging business frontiers such as e-commerce, f-commerce. The bank is confident that the skills acquired during the workshop will enable these women to expand their businesses further and contribute significantly to the economy.
