6th Bangladesh Fintech Summit Explores the Next Phase of Digital Finance in Bangladesh

The day-long Mastercard Presents 6th Bangladesh Fintech Summit Powered by Dhaka Bank PLC & in Association with Upay was held today at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka, convening banking and fintech leaders, C-Suite executives, investors, regulators, technology experts, startup founders, and academicians from across the country and beyond. Initiated by Bangladesh Fintech Forum and organised by Bangladesh Brand Forum, the summit examined the priorities shaping the next phase of Bangladesh’s digital financial transformation as stated in the Press Release.

The Bangladesh Fintech Summit seeks to strengthen the country’s financial technology ecosystem through knowledge exchange, industry collaboration, and policy dialogue. This year’s discussions focused on moving from digital adoption towards dependable financial infrastructure, exploring how institutions can expand inclusion, strengthen customer confidence, and prepare for an increasingly technology-driven financial sector.

The initiative comprised 2 Keynote Sessions, 3 Panel Discussions, 1 Expert Deep Dive, 1 Insight Session, and 1 Case Study, connecting regional banking experience with the practical priorities of Bangladesh’s financial ecosystem.

Welcoming the distinguished guests, Sajid Mahbub, Group Chief Executive Officer & Executive Editor, Bangladesh Brand Forum, remarked, “The next chapter of Bangladesh’s fintech journey will depend on how effectively we turn digital adoption into lasting financial capability. Innovation must make financial services more useful and accessible, while strengthening the trust people place in them. This requires institutions, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to work together on the infrastructure and standards that will support our financial future.”

The summit featured keynote sessions led by Naushad Hussain, Chief Banking & Network Officer, TransFi Global; Former Group Chief Strategy Officer, Lightnet Group; Former Member of the Board of Directors, Inception Technology Co. Ltd.; Former Managing Director & Head of Global Retail Payments, CIMB Group; Khuan Yew Lee, Executive Director, Regional Head of Product, GXBank, GXS Bank & Grab; Former Senior Product Leader, Global Payments for Alibaba, Ant Group. The sessions examined the convergence of banking across ASEAN and South Asia and the journey of growing a digital bank from inception to one million customers. They explored the changing dynamics of regional banking and the importance of product development and customer confidence in scaling digital financial services. The Expert Deep Dive was led by Gazi Yar Mohammed, Co-founder & CEO, Kube Money; Co-Founder, Dana Fintech; Former EVP, Head of Digital Financial Services, One Bank Limited. The session explored the transition from automation to agentic intelligence and what this shift means for Bangladeshi banks and fintech companies, examining the implications of increasingly autonomous AI for financial services.

Across the other sessions, speakers explored how AI and digital banks could reshape Bangladesh’s financial services over the coming decade, alongside the role of cashless transactions and interoperability in reaching the next 100 million people. Discussions also addressed secure and scalable financial infrastructure, regulatory sandboxes, AI governance, data protection, and consumer protection. These conversations connected the opportunities of technological advancement with the institutional capabilities and regulatory foundations needed to build trust and support responsible innovation.
