The intimate programme at Russian House in Dhaka will feature modern Bengali songs and ghazals from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
UTSHOB BUNON MEDIA has announced a recurring cultural programme titled “Shikorer Sur.” The series will begin with a special musical evening featuring vocalist Alamgir Parvez on Friday, 21 August 2026, at Russian House in Dhaka, Dhanmondi. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m as stated in the Press Release.
Centred on modern Bengali songs and ghazals, “Shikorer Sur” has been conceived around musical memory, heritage and cultural depth. Through a carefully selected live repertoire, the programme aims to bring audiences closer to songs that engage with Bengali culture, lived experience and a sense of roots.
Alamgir Parvez will lead the evening’s performances, presenting selected modern Bengali songs and ghazals through his distinctive musical sensibility and interpretation.
Rather than following the format of a large-scale concert, the programme seeks to create a refined and intimate setting for attentive listening, deeper appreciation of musical aesthetics and meaningful cultural connection between artist and audience.
According to Moin Hassan Prince, Chief Executive Officer of UTSHOB BUNON MEDIA, the organisation plans to present 12 musical evenings under the “Shikorer Sur” banner, featuring established and culturally significant artists. Each edition will place particular emphasis on the featured artist’s musical journey, selected repertoire and cultural engagement with the audience.
The event has been designed for music enthusiasts, artists, cultural practitioners, professionals, academics, media representatives and audiences who value artistically rich and meaningful cultural programmes.
UTSHOB BUNON MEDIA has invited media professionals, members of the cultural community and music enthusiasts to attend. Information about admission, tickets and programme updates will be available through the organisation’s official communication channels.
