The afternoon of February 8th at BRAC University marked the end of the journey of innovation, entrepreneurship, and impact with the HULT Prize at BRAC University 2024-25 crowning its champions in a thrilling grand finale. With five finalist teams competing to present the most impactful business idea for a sustainable Bangladesh, the event was a showcase of creativity, dedication, and problem-solving with evidences of real impact, according to press release.

Taking home the winning title was Team Helping Hand with their game-changing initiative, Shohocare, a platform offering round-the-clock certified caregiving courses and caregivers balancing costs and services, filling a critical gap in home healthcare services. Their compassionate and practical approach won over the judges, securing them the championship trophy. The competition was packed with brilliant ideas. BRACU Alter claimed second place with their innovative disaster-response robot, designed to assist during natural and accidental disasters. Team Crackanomics took third place with their eco-friendly plates made from rice husk, offering a sustainable alternative to plastic.

The event began with Campus Director Arefin Islam Ruhan, who shared his gratitude and reflections on the journey. He was followed by BRAC University’s Registrar, David Dowland, who spoke about BRAC’s commitment to sustainability and the inspiring impact of this competition. The grand finale was judged by renowned industry professionals, including Mohammed Zahidullah, Chief Sustainability Officer at DBL Group; SM Parvej Islam, Vice President at HSBC Bank; Khaled Bin Kamal, Financial Service Industry Specialist; and Aazreen Chowdhury, Retail & Consumer Marketing Lead at Colgate Palmolive Bangladesh Ltd. Their expertise and insights not only decided the winners but also provided valuable guidance to all participants in the Q&A round.

The event concluded on a high note with cheers, celebrations, and well-deserved appreciation for all teams. Judges, mentors, and organizers were recognized for their contributions, while Team Helping Hand celebrated their hard-earned victory with their supporters.
