State Minister of Youth & Sports stressed on the importance of proper nutrition during adolescence

The Cube Institute, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth & Sports, organized a nutrition seminar on 20 July at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium to promote healthy eating habits among adolescent athletes participating in Notun Kuri Sports 2026 as stated in the Press Release.

The seminar, organized by the National Sports Council for 550 finalists aged 12–14, emphasized the critical role of balanced nutrition in supporting children’s physical growth, mental well-being and athletic performance. Health experts and policymakers encouraged participants to reduce junk food consumption and adopt healthier dietary habits from an early age.

Nutritionist and Public Health & Wellness Consultant Israt Jahan highlighted that young athletes have higher energy and nutrient requirements. She encouraged participants to eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables and quality protein sources such as eggs, fish and chicken. She also stressed the importance of drinking milk regularly, noting that it provides calcium and essential nutrients needed for strong bones, healthy muscles and sustained energy.

As the Nutrition Partner of the event, Arla DANO reinforced the importance of daily milk consumption. Anowarul Amin, Head of Corporate Affairs, Communication and Sustainability, Arla Foods Bangladesh Ltd., said, “At this important stage of growth, proper nutrition and regular milk consumption help children build stronger bodies, maintain energy and develop lifelong healthy habits. We are proud to support this initiative by providing DANO Daily Pushti to encourage healthier nutrition choices among young athletes.”

State Minister for Youth & Sports Md. Aminul Haque, who attended the seminar as the chief guest, urged participants to prioritize nutrition alongside sports.

He said, “To achieve your full potential in sports and in life, you must nourish your body with healthy foods. Instead of junk food, choose nutritious options such as eggs, fruits and a glass of milk. Small healthy choices today will build a stronger and healthier Bangladesh tomorrow.”

The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants received practical guidance on balanced diets, healthy lifestyles and sports nutrition.
