Mahzabin From Bangladesh Made It To Asia’s Kindness List 20232 min read

World Kindness Day on November 13th provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and promote kindness, compassion, and generosity globally. Mahzabin Ferdous, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust (BANCAT), has been recognized in the top 50 Asia Pacific list of kindness and leadership (https://www.kindnessrules.co.uk/our-candidate/2023/).

Additionally, two more individuals from Bangladesh have been included in this prestigious list: Murshidul Alam Bhuiyan, Founder and Director of Team Bertho, and Dr. Rishad Choudhury Robin, Senior Research Technical Lead at The Leprosy Mission International Bangladesh.

Mahzabin, who has a long history in the corporate sector, later transitioned to working as a social communication entrepreneur. She collaborates with various non-profit organizations, including Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust (BANCAT) and Valor of Bangladesh.

Her significant contributions include establishing ‘Alok Nibash,’ the first holistic cancer caregiving home in Bangladesh, which has greatly impacted the cancer community and beyond. Additionally, she founded ‘Ucchash School’ in one of the country’s most remote locations to provide education to underprivileged populations.

Regarding her approach, Mahzabin said, “Kindness in leadership builds trust. Supporting others in personal challenges fosters empathy, dedication, and positive outcomes. True leadership integrates kindness for credibility, creating a stress-free, flexible, and open workplace for growth.”

Dr. Rubana Huq, after working with Mahzabin, commended her journey as very motivational. She highlighted Mahzabin’s transition from her corporate job to supporting Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust, leading with kindness, empowering her team, and championing women.

“Mahzabin’s dedication to helping people was evident when she approached Shomman Foundation for collaboration with BANCAT. Her commitment is truly impressive,” said Prof. Dr. Rubaiul Murshed.
