Helen Keller International and MetLife Foundation jointly launched a program that will support 500 poverty-stricken families in the haor region of Sunamganj, Sylhet. This initiative aims to help families engage in income-generating activities to overcome poverty as stated in the press release.
The families will be able to generate income by learning both on-farm and off-farm trades, including livestock and poultry rearing, tailoring, aquaculture, small business ventures, fishing (boat and net), and commercial vegetable farming.
Dr. Md Mahmudul Hasan, Acting Country Director of Helen Keller International, said, “We have always strived to support people living in poverty and to create a long-term positive impact on society.
