Emirates, Us-Bangla Win Awards For Their Outstanding Performance2 min read

Recently, the Triplover-Monitor Airline of the Year awards committee awarded Emirates and US-Bangla Airlines. For their extraordinary service, Emirates won the “Airline of the Year 2022”. Consequently, US-Bangla Airlines received the award of  “Best Domestic Airline” of the year.

Novoair wins gold for the “Best Ontime Performance” in domestic flight operations. Simultaneously, won silver in the Best Domestic Airline category. Meanwhile, Biman Bangladesh Airlines won gold in three different categories for the very first time. Best Economy Class, Best Inflight Meal in Economy Class, and Best Regional Airline. Further, Qatar Airways became the “Cargo Airline of the Year” award holder. In the same vein, topped in the Frequent Flyer program category. Consequently, Air Arabia won the “Best Budget Airline of the Year” award.

Having said that, Airlines in the country won awards in 13 different categories. Winners received gold, silver, and bronze awards according to the number of votes they got. Henceforth, Emirates hitched the highest number of gold awards with five in different categories. Namely, Best Business Class, Best Inflight Meal in Business Class, and Best Inflight Entertainment. And not to mention the Best Long-haul Airline and Airline of the Year awards. Besides, City Bank Amex Lounge won the “Best Airport Lounge”. In fact, this category is a new addition this year.

As per a report, many prominent figures in the industry attended the ceremony. Among them, Md Abdullah Al Mamun, managing director of US-Bangla Airlines, received a special award. The jury committee awarded him as the “Airline Entrepreneur of the Year 2022”. Not to mention, his outstanding contributions to the country’s aviation sector.

First, The Bangladesh Monitor introduced the Airline of the Year awards in 2007. This year, Triplover as the title sponsor funded the 9th edition of the event. Alongside, Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka contributed as a hospitality partner.

In brief, The jury committee selected winners based on frequent flyers’ opinion polls. They conducted the process over a period of three months. Distinguished personalities from various sectors analyzed the opinion poll to select winners. The jury committee was a team of nine experts from the relevant industries.
