DMTCL signs deal with Carcopolo to introduce GPS-based fleet tracking system

The operator of Dhaka Metro Rail Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) and the digital mobility platform of Bangla Trac Group Carcopolo signed an agreement today for the implementation of Vehicle Telematics System (VTS) as stated in the Press Release.

The signing ceremony was held today at the DMTCL Head Office. Mohammed Nazrul Islam Director (Operation and Maintenance) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) and M. Tanvir Siddique, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thane Systems of Carcopolo signed the agreement.

Under the agreement, Carcopolo will deploy advanced VTS along with comprehensive fleet management services to support DMTCL’s official fleet operations. The solution will enable real-time vehicle tracking, route monitoring, trip history, driver behavior analysis, and centralized fleet management, helping DMTCL improve operational efficiency, optimize resource utilization, enhance fleet visibility, and make data-driven operational decisions.

The partnership represents an important step towards strengthening digital fleet management within Bangladesh’s public transportation sector. By leveraging advanced telematics technology, the initiative is expected to improve operational transparency, strengthen vehicle security, and support the long-term modernization of fleet management practices.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives from both organizations highlighted that the collaboration reflects their shared commitment to adopting innovative digital technologies to build safer, smarter, and more efficient transportation services across Bangladesh.
