In a recent campaign aimed at encouraging the use of safe and legal remittance channels, 15 individuals in Bangladesh – relatives of expatriates – were awarded attractive prizes including motorbikes, electronic appliances, and digital devices for receiving the highest volume of remittances directly into their bKash accounts via Taptap Send, a globally recognized money transfer operator (MTO), reportedly.

The prize distribution ceremony took place at bKash’s corporate headquarters, where the winners were celebrated for their participation in the campaign that ran from March 1 to March 28. The winner who received the highest remittance during this period was awarded a motorcycle coupon valued at Tk180,000. The second and third highest recipients received electronic appliance coupons worth Tk50,000 and Tk30,000 respectively.

In addition to these top-tier rewards, a total of 12 other participants were recognized weekly throughout the campaign. Every week, three recipients were selected and given electronic device coupons valued at Tk15,000, Tk10,000, and Tk5,000 respectively – highlighting the initiative’s focus on consistent recognition and motivation for all users.

This campaign was more than just a reward program; it was strategically designed to raise awareness about the importance of sending remittances through secure, efficient, and legal channels. Remittances serve as a crucial pillar for Bangladesh’s economy, playing a significant role in improving the livelihoods of millions. Encouraging legal remittance routes like Taptap Send and bKash ensures money reaches families faster, more safely, and with greater transparency.

The bKash remittance service has been gaining rapid traction due to its reliability and user-friendly process. Once an expatriate sends money via an approved international MTO, the recipient in Bangladesh can receive the amount directly into their bKash wallet in real time. This seamless transfer eliminates the need for physical bank visits, and recipients can use the funds instantly for payments, purchases, or transfers.

Currently, bKash is connected to 110 international MTOs operating across 140+ countries. These remittances are processed through 25 top commercial banks in Bangladesh, ensuring legal and trustworthy settlement.

Moreover, recipients can withdraw remittance funds easily from approximately 2,500 ATM booths of commercial banks across the country. This can be done through the bKash app or by dialing *247# for a minimal withdrawal fee of Tk7 per Tk1,000 – making it both cost-effective and convenient.

This initiative by bKash and Taptap Send not only celebrates loyal users but also promotes a sustainable and secure ecosystem for international money transfers – paving the way for enhanced financial inclusion and economic stability.
