Banglalink has obtained the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Bangladesh Bank to begin operations as a Payment Service Provider (PSP), marking a major step toward expanding digital payment access nationwide. With this approval, Banglalink is set to introduce essential financial services directly through customersโ€™ mobile devices, enhancing convenience, security and financial inclusion.

Backed by its high-capacity technology platform and guided by the companyโ€™s DO1440 strategy focused on delivering relevant digital and financial services every minute of the day Banglalink is preparing to launch a wide range of next-generation payment solutions. As a fully owned subsidiary of VEON, the global digital operator, Banglalink views this milestone as critical to strengthening the foundation for a cashless, digitally empowered Bangladesh. VEONโ€™s global fintech expertise further reinforces the companyโ€™s commitment to inclusive digital finance.

Upon launch, customers will gain access to instant money transfers, remittance services, utility and government bill payments, e-commerce and merchant transactions, salary and disbursement services, as well as emerging offerings such as micro-savings and insurance premium payments. Millions of users especially those in unbanked and underserved segments are expected to benefit from safer, faster and more seamless financial transactions.

The platform has been built with a robust security framework to ensure reliability and long-term customer trust.

Johan Buse, Chief Executive Officer of Banglalink, said: โ€œWith Banglalinkโ€™s nationwide reach and VEONโ€™s global capabilities, we are shaping a secure and inclusive digital payment ecosystem for Bangladesh. This approval reinforces our belief that simple, safe and accessible digital financial services should be available to everyone. Guided by our DO1440 strategy, we aim to enrich every minute of peopleโ€™s lives by keeping essential services within reach. As a people-first company, we will continue driving meaningful digital innovation that supports everyday life, empowers communities and accelerates Bangladeshโ€™s journey toward a connected, future-ready digital economy.โ€

Banglalink is currently finalizing the commercial rollout of its digital payment services in close collaboration with Bangladesh Bank and partner institutions.
