The Google-owned video-sharing platform-YouTube has come up with a gift for the creators. Now, creators of content channels on YouTube can see a profile card of each fan to provide better content for future reference.

So, what is a profile card?

Through profile cards, one user or creator can see viewers’ public information and a history of comments on a channel. The facility is currently available on Android.

YouTube started testing the profile cards in September last year. According to YouTube, a profile card will show each and every comment the user has left on a specific channel over a year (12 months) timeline.

This way, creators will get a concrete idea about the transition of perception of each user about the channel to create better communication.

Once you tap the profile icon of any user of your channel, you can find the below-mentioned information:

  • Name
  • Profile picture
  • Subscriptions
  • Subscriber count

You will also get to know whether the user is a subscriber of the channel or not.

Having said that, profile cards will only showcase each user’s history of comments for a specific channel. It’s not the compilation of the whole YouTube footprint of a user. But you never know, maybe within a very short time, we will see something likewise to collect the overall data of each commenter.

Through the addition of Profile cards, YouTube hasn’t only made an arrangement to build a stronger community among the commenters but also created a structural filter process for fatal and abusive comments.

Within the next few days, all the android users will get their hands on this new experience. YouTube plans to eventually roll out the feature to all the other operating systems as well. In any event, during the testing stage, YouTube saw users not so much content with the feature as some analysts felt an opt-out choice was fundamental to maintain relevance and privacy.
