Credit card popularity is slowly rising as issuance of credit cards saw another YoY double-digit growth. The number of issued credit cards as of April 2023 was 2.2 million which was 1.62 times higher than April 2019.

The number of transactions using credit cards also increased over the years. The number of transactions as of April 2023 was 4.3 million which was a 4% YoY increase and, increased by 5.6% compared to March 2023.

The amount of transactions increased nominally compared to the same period last year. Tk 27,463.7 million was transacted using credit cards in April 2023 which was an increase of 1% YoY. The amount of transactions increased by 3.5% compared to March 2023.

The Average amount per transaction was Tk 6,420.7 which was 3.2% lower compared to April 2022.
