Syed Mahbubur Rahman From MTB Appointed as Chairman of PDBL1 min read

The board of directors of Primary Dealers Bangladesh Limited (PDBL), unanimously elected Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO of Mutual Trust Bank PLC, as the new Chairman of PDBL on May 9, 2024. Rahman, known for his extensive experience and leadership in the banking sector, assumes this crucial role with a vision to steer PDBL towards greater efficiency and success.

Joining Rahman in the top leadership echelon is Mohammad Jahangir, Managing Director & CEO of Rupali Bank PLC, who was appointed as the Vice Chairman of PDBL. Jahangir’s appointment reflects the collective confidence of the board in his capabilities to contribute to the strategic direction and governance of PDBL.

In addition to the key leadership appointments, Ashim Kumar Saha, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Treasury at Mercantile Bank PLC, was re-elected as the convener of the Technical Committee. Saha’s reappointment underscores his commendable stewardship and expertise in managing the technical aspects of PDBL’s operations. The AGM served as a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on key industry trends, challenges, and opportunities, while reaffirming their commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation within the primary dealer community.
