Uber, the global ride-sharing giant, has recently appointed Nasheed Ferdous Kamal as the Country Head for its operations in Bangladesh. This strategic move signals Uber’s commitment to furthering its presence and impact in the country’s evolving mobility landscape. Prior to joining Uber, Nasheed served as the General Manager at Robi Axiata Limited, where she led Airtel’s Base Management and Customer Lifecycle Management in the region. The announcement was made through a press release issued by Uber.

Nasheed brings a wealth of experience to her new role, boasting over 18 years of expertise in diverse areas such as Marketing, Product & Pricing Strategy, New Business Development, Customer Lifecycle Management, Revenue, and Base Growth. Her previous contributions at Airtel Bangladesh, where she focused on Usage & Retention and Market share growth under the Marketing team, showcase her versatile skill set.

An alumna of the University of Windsor and North South University, Nasheed holds academic credentials that complement her extensive professional background. In response to her appointment, Nasheed expressed excitement about joining Uber and collaborating with the talented team. She emphasized the collective effort in building Uber’s shared mobility business in Bangladesh, with a strong commitment to sustainability goals.

Uber’s decision to bring Nasheed on board aligns with the company’s strategy to tap into local expertise and leadership to navigate the unique dynamics of the Bangladeshi market.
