In a bid to support consumers during the holy month of Ramadan, Meghna Group of Industries reportedly has announced a special initiative to sell essential commodities at fair prices across various locations in Dhaka. The initiative aims to provide relief to consumers amid rising market prices by making staple goods more affordable.

As part of this effort, Meghna Group will deploy its own fleet of vehicles at key locations throughout the capital. These locations include Motijheel, Gulistan, Karwan Bazar, Farmgate, Azimpur, Agargaon, Baridhara, Gabtali, Mohakhali, Khilgaon, the National Press Club, Mirpur-1, Mirpur-10, Mohammadpur, and several other areas. The mobile sales units will ensure that essential goods are easily accessible to people across the city.

Taslim Shahriar, the senior assistant general manager at Meghna Group of Industries, expressed the company’s motivation behind the initiative. He explained that the truck sale was launched with the goal of helping consumers purchase essential commodities at affordable prices during Ramadan. The company, a prominent importer and processor of commodities, aims to make a positive impact by ensuring affordability during a time when demand for essential goods peaks.

Under this initiative, eight Fresh-branded products will be sold at subsidized rates. These include rice, sugar, milk powder, bottled water, pulses, tea, salt, and soybean oil. By offering these staple items at reduced prices, Meghna Group seeks to ease the financial burden on consumers, particularly those from low and middle-income households.

Ramadan is a time when food prices typically see an increase due to heightened demand. Initiatives like this play a crucial role in stabilizing market prices and ensuring that consumers are not subjected to undue financial strain. Meghna Group’s efforts reflect a commitment to corporate social responsibility by addressing economic challenges faced by the community.

With this initiative, Meghna Group of Industries reinforces its role as a responsible market player, helping to balance affordability and availability of essential goods. As the month of fasting approaches, this step is expected to bring much-needed relief to thousands of households in Dhaka.
