Grameenphone, the country’s leading telecommunications services provider and a pioneer in telco innovation, has officially launched “AI & I”, a transformation program aimed at driving the company’s ambition to become an AI-Native Telco-Tech company. This industry-first initiative underscores Grameenphone’s leadership role in shaping the future of telecommunications through futuristic, customer-centric innovations as stated in the press relase.

The launch marks a significant milestone in Grameenphone’s broader AI First journey—designed to ensure strong alignment, accelerated execution, and cultural adoption of AI across the organization. Rooted in a clear dual focus- elevating customer experience and empowering employees– Grameenphone’s AI First ambition reflects its commitment to sustainable transformation in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

“AI & I is more than a program—it’s a movement. We believe the future belongs not to AI alone, but to AI and the individual, working together. This initiative places the power of AI in every employee’s hand, enabling us to serve our customers with greater intelligence, empathy, and relevance,” said Yasir Azman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grameenphone.

“At Grameenphone, we don’t just see AI as a technology shift. We see it as a people shift. ‘AI & I’ is our way of ensuring that our customers get smarter experiences- because our people are becoming smarter, faster, and more empowered,” added Azman.

From Vision to Action: Leading the AI Transformation in Telecom

Grameenphone is embedding AI across its entire value chain—from network operations to customer service and marketing—delivering smarter, faster, and hyper-personalized experiences to its over 86 million customers. Current use cases include Hyper-personalized offers tailored to individual customer needs, Intelligent HR bots that enhance workplace efficiency, and AI-assisted network optimization to ensure superior quality of service.

As a first-mover in Bangladesh, Grameenphone has inaugurated the country’s first enterprise-grade AI Factory—developed in partnership with Cisco and powered by NVIDIA GPU technology—to enable high-speed AI model development and deployment, while simultaneously rolling out a company-wide AI training program for all employees and launching the “GP Ideathon” to crowdsource AI solutions from within the organization, ensuring innovation flows from every corner of the business.
