Google paid Tk 2.3 crore in VAT1 min read

Google becomes the second big tech firm after Facebook to file for VAT return. According to Dhaka South VAT Commissionerate, Google has filed VAT of Tk 55.8 lakh and Tk 1.74 crore for the month of May and June respectively.

The government’s treasury department received the payment from Citibank NA’s Singapore branch. The search engine market leader was the first foreign company to register for BIN (Business Identification Number) in Bangladesh.
