Country’s Construction Market Poised to Exceed $41 Billion by 2028, Says Report2 min read

Bangladesh’s construction market is reportedly forecasted to expand significantly, growing from $30.38 billion in 2023 to $41.47 billion by 2028, according to research shared by Meherun N Islam, President and Group Managing Director of CEMS-Global USA and Asia Pacific.

Meherun presented the findings during the inauguration of the Build and Power Series of Exhibitions at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on 14 November. The event featured multiple exhibitions aimed at showcasing advancements in construction, real estate, renewable energy, and infrastructure.

CEMS-Global USA, a renowned international exhibition organizer, is hosting several major expos from 14–16 November. These include:

  • The 29th Build Bangladesh International Expo 2024
  • The 23rd Real Estate Expo 2024
  • The 26th Power Bangladesh 2024 International Expo
  • The 21st Solar Bangladesh 2024 International Expo
  • The 6th Dhaka International Lighting Expo 2024
  • The 6th Water Bangladesh Expo 2024

The exhibitions are open to visitors daily from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Speaking at the inauguration, Meherun highlighted the pivotal role of the construction sector in driving Bangladesh’s economic progress. She emphasized that these multisectoral exhibitions aim to foster stronger B2B connections across industries, enhancing the country’s position as a key player in real estate, renewable energy, and infrastructure on a global scale.

Organizers pointed out significant growth in the real estate and construction sectors. They revealed that the real estate sector alone is managing over 6,000 ongoing projects, representing an investment of Tk150,000 crore.

The exhibitions have drawn participation from over 195 companies across 20 countries, with more than 500 booths on display. Prominent figures at the event included SS Sarwar, Group CEO of CEMS-Global USA, and Tanveer Qamrul Islam, Executive Director of CEMS-Global.

The event underscores the potential for Bangladesh to strengthen its footprint in various sectors, leveraging innovation and collaboration to support sustained economic growth.
