BRAC Bank, SME Foundation organize capacity-building program for women entrepreneurs in Sylhet1 min read
BRAC Bank and SME Foundation jointly organized a capacity-building program, named ‘Amrai TARA’ in Sylhet, to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of women-led small and medium enterprises (WSMEs), said a press release.
Held from 17 to 19 September, 2024, the ‘Business Management and Financial Literacy Training’ under BRAC Bank ‘Amrai TARA’ was attended by 23 promising WSMEs.
The initiative focused on identifying women entrepreneurs’ challenges, providing practical solutions, and guiding them in establishing effective marketing channels and financial readiness for their businesses.
Supported by the Gates Foundation, the program emphasized advancing women’s entrepreneurship and financial inclusion in the region.
On the final day, BRAC Bank officials, Kazi Israt Jahan, Associate Manager, and Bristy Bhoumick, Officer, from the Women Entrepreneur Cell, conducted a half-day session on Banking Literacy and Financial Inclusion, equipping participants with essential financial knowledge.
The event was concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including Anowar Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of SME Foundation, as Chief Guest, and Md. Nazim Hasan Sattar, General Manager of SME Foundation.
The program is part of an ongoing collaboration between BRAC Bank and Gates Foundation to promote long-term business sustainability through financial inclusion and entrepreneurial development in 20 districts of Bangladesh. Together, these organizations are dedicated to providing women entrepreneurs with the tools and resources needed to overcome barriers and foster business growth.
