BRAC Bank appoints Monzula Morshed as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Human Resources Officer

BRAC Bank has appointed Monzula Morshed as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Human Resources Officer, strengthening the bank’s leadership bench as it accelerates its people-first agenda, as stated in the Press Release.

Her appointment takes effect from February 1, 2026. She will also serve as a member of the bank’s Management Committee.

Monzula brings over 25 years of distinguished experience as a people and organisational leader across telecommunications, manufacturing, banking and FMCG sectors. She is widely recognised for driving strategic people agendas, leading large-scale organisational transformations, and building future-ready capabilities within institutions she served.

Commenting on the leadership appointment, Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank, said, “The appointment of Monzula, a seasoned HR professional, shows our strategic intent to transform the bank as we aim to become the most trusted, innovative and inclusive bank. Her proven ability to align people strategy with business ambition will play a critical role as we continue to strengthen BRAC Bank as a purpose-driven, high-performing organisation.”  

“Her local and international experience will help us in change management, talent management, most importantly nurturing a conducive culture, needed to support the bank’s exponential growth,” he added. 

Prior to joining BRAC Bank, Monzula served as Lead Consultant at Second Mountain Consulting, advising organisations across multiple industries on strategic human capital priorities. Earlier, she spent more than a decade as Chief Human Resources Officer at Banglalink Digital Communications Limited and Lafarge Surma Cement Limited. Her career also includes senior leadership roles at globally reputed organisations such as Standard Chartered Bank in Bangladesh and Thailand, and British American Tobacco Bangladesh.

Her professional journey is underpinned by a strong academic and executive development foundation. She holds an MBA and a BBA from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, and has completed executive leadership and advanced HR programmes at INSEAD, London Business School and the University of Oxford.
