Seems like Mr. Zuckerberg is again on the headlines! This time for WhatsApp. The messaging app has recently updated its privacy policy which allows WhatsApp to share data with parent Facebook and other third-party apps.
Wait a minute, does it mean WhatsApp isn’t an end to end encrypted app anymore?
No folks, that’s not the case. WhatsApp, itself is still an end-to-end encrypted platform, meaning that the company will not have access to your data, though it will collect and share other data and information.
So, what are these ‘Other Data’?
According to the newly updated Privacy Policy, the giant messaging platform will collect customer data such as-

- Device ID
- Purchase Data
- Coarse Location
- Phone Number and Contact List
- Product Purchase Data
- Crash Data
- Payment info
- Customer Support
- Other User Content
- Other Diagnostic Data
WhatsApp’s latest clarifications don’t really inspire confidence because the information that it automatically collects and shares with Facebook and third-party providers include numerous personal identification information.
