BRAC Bank has reached a new milestone in corporate governance excellence by winning the prestigious ICMAB Best Corporate Award for the ninth consecutive year, reinforcing its position as a benchmark for governance and transparency in banking sector in Bangladesh, as stated in the press release.
The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) conferred the Gold Award, the highest distinction, upon BRAC Bank in the Private Commercial Bank category at the ICMAB Best Corporate Award 2024.
The award recognises organisations that demonstrate exemplary corporate governance, transparency, and accountability. BRAC Bank’s distinction is anchored in its strong performance indicators, including the highest market capitalisation among local banks, the largest share of international institutional investors, and the country’s top credit rating. As a member of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV), the bank continues to advance values-based banking and sustainability-driven practices.
Sk. Bashir Uddin, Adviser to the Ministry of Commerce, formally presented the award to Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director & CEO of BRAC Bank, at a ceremony held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka on December 17, 2025.
Md. Abdur Rahman Khan, FCMA, Chairman of the National Board of Revenue; Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce; Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, FCMA, President of ICMAB; and M. Masud Rana, FCA, Additional Managing Director & Chief Financial Officer of BRAC Bank, among other distinguished guests attended the award ceremony.
