Grameenphone and PalmPay Launch Bangladesh’s First Ever Device-Bundle Offers with Cardless EMI

Grameenphone, the country’s leading telecommunications services provider, has expanded its partnership with PalmPay to launch Bangladesh’s first cardless EMI solution for device–bundle purchases, allowing customers to purchase smartphones with exclusive long-term data and voice packages through flexible monthly repayments without the need for a credit card, as stated in the press release.

A signing ceremony was held Yesterday (25 September) at GPHouse in Bashundhara, where Md. Mahbubul Alam Bhuiyan, Senior Director and Head of Internet & Broadband at Grameenphone, and Chris Cheng, Chief Operating Officer from PalmPay Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Representing Grameenphone were Solaiman Alam, Chief Product Officer; Farha Naz Zaman, Chief Marketing Officer; and Tanveer Mohammad, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, along with other key team members. Representing PalmPay were Chris Cheng, Chief Operating Officer, and Zack Zha, Chief Sales Officer, accompanied by other distinguished representatives.

As part of this rollout, customers can now choose between two long-term combo bundles, offering 225 GB of data with 4,500 minutes at Tk 3,996, and 360 GB of data with 6,300 minutes at Tk 4,996, both valid for 270 days and available exclusively through the PalmPay platform.

Customers can also buy selected Smartphones of Itel, Tecno & Infinx on EMI along with their preferred Grameenphone bundle through PalmPay retail partners or Grameenphone Centers. The bundle activates immediately for its full validity, and customers make monthly repayments via the PalmPay app without affecting their primary Grameenphone balances.

Solaiman Alam, Chief Product Officer of Grameenphone, said, “At Grameenphone, we prioritize delivering superior and seamless experiences for our customers. This expanded partnership with PalmPay allows us to leverage our combined strengths to create the most accessible and convenient way to purchase both connectivity and devices. By integrating flexible financing with our signature bundles, we are not only reducing upfront cost barriers, but also enabling customers to stay connected for longer periods with much greater value, reflecting our commitment to making digital access smoother and more inclusive for all.”

Jun Zeng Ethan, Managing Director, PalmPay Limited added, “Our partnership with Grameenphone marks a significant milestone as we move beyond being a platform for financing smartphones. We are committed to providing our customers with reliable service bundles and smart devices in one affordable EMI plan. Together, we are pioneering a new model of digital financial inclusion in Bangladesh, empowering more people to participate in the digital economy.”

By offering accessible, secure, and flexible solutions, this collaboration with PalmPay reinforces Grameenphone’s commitment to driving financial inclusion and expanding digital opportunities across Bangladesh, setting a benchmark for the telecom and fintech sectors alike.
