ABB Contributes 2 (Two) Crore For Flood Relief And Medical Care Of The Wounded During Students’ Movement1 min read
Association of Bankers Bangladesh Limited (ABB) has announced the contribution of 2 (two) crore taka for flood relief and medical treatment of students and other individuals wounded during the recent movement.
ABB, in its Board of Governors meeting held on August 24, 2024, decided to come forward to help flood victims and the wounded during the student movement. Selim R. F. Hussain, Chairman of ABB and Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank, presided over the meeting. Vice Chairman Mashrur Arefin and members of the Board of Governors—Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Mohammad Feroz Hossain, and Masihul Huq Chowdhury, among others—were present.

Of the total contribution of ABB, 1(one) crore taka will go to the Chief Advisor’s Relief and Welfare Fund and 1(one) crore taka to different organizations for medical treatment of students and people injured during the recent movement.

Selim R. F. Hussain commented about the contribution: “We are moved by the devastating flood affecting lakhs of people in a number of districts. We believe the injured students also need urgent medical care. That is why we, from the banking industry, feel it is our collective responsibility to support the flood victims and the injured people of the movement. We believe our support will mitigate the sufferings of the wounded people.”
