Internet Banking transactions are gaining popularity in Bangladesh as its transaction amount in May 2023 has more than doubled compared to the same period last year. The amount of transactions in May 2023 was Tk 499,305.7 million which is 142% higher compared to May 2022.
The growth in transaction volume is driven by both increases in customers and transactions. As of May 2023, about 7 million used Internet banking services.

User Base increased by 3.25 times compared to May 2019. In May 2019, only 2.1 million users used Internet banking services.
Transaction numbers increased by 53% YoY compared to the same period last year. 7.4 million transactions were completed through Internet banking services which was only 1.2 million in May 2019. It has increased by 6 times over the 5 years period.,
Tk 67,687.5 was transacted on average in May 2023 which was 57.9% higher compared to May 2022. In May 2020, only Tk 26,923.4 was transacted per transaction.
