Daraz recently wrapped up its eagerly awaited “11.11 Biggest Sale of the Year,” serving a staggering 20 million consumers across Bangladesh.
Aiming to democratize e-commerce, Daraz consistently offers unbeatable prices and a diverse range of products, making online shopping accessible to all. According to a company press release, this year’s sale saw everyday essentials like salt and milk powder topping the sales charts, allowing shoppers to enjoy significant savings and underscoring Daraz’s dedication to enhancing local living standards.
The press release further states that Daraz is devoted to assisting sellers in expanding their online presence. During the 11.11 sale, the platform supported over 30,000 brands and sellers.
Initiatives like onboarding workshops and new co-funded programs were introduced to reduce the cost of online business for sellers.
Impressively, the number of sellers earning at least 1,500 Tk in the first 24 hours of the sale doubled compared to the previous year.
As Bangladesh’s premier e-commerce platform, Daraz also opened doors for content creators to advance their careers and increase their income.
This year’s 11.11 sale saw content creators’ earnings skyrocket by over 400% compared to last year.
The campaign marked a 600% surge in shoppers from outside Dhaka, thanks to Daraz’s extended delivery network now spanning more cities in Bangladesh. Over 2,500 riders, collaborating with Daraz logistics partners, ensured nationwide connectivity, with the furthest package being delivered from Chattogram to Tetulia, a distance of 576 kilometers.
Daraz CEO, Bjarke Mikkelsen, highlighted the platform’s role in these challenging times, stating, “In a time of economic uncertainty and rising inflation, our mission to uplift communities through the power of commerce has never been more relevant. This year, we doubled down on helping sellers maximize their sales while making online shopping more accessible, affordable, and rewarding for shoppers. We are thankful to everyone – shoppers, sellers, brands, creators, partners, and the incredible Daraz team – for without them, the success of Daraz 11.11 would not have been possible”.
