BRAC Bank continues to enhance financial accessibility and elevate banking convenience for Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) by introducing instant account opening through eKYC and two specialized products for their family members, said in press release.
The introduction of eKYC, Probashi Poribar, and TARA Probashi Poribar Savings Account reinforce BRAC Bank’s dedication to serving NRBs and their families, recognizing their immense contributions to the Bangladesh economy, according to press release.
The advanced electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) platform allows expatriate Bangladeshis to open accounts instantly from abroad without the need to visit a branch. This seamless process will encourage wage earners to open bank accounts and remit through the banking channel.
Once the account is opened, customers can download the Astha App, which provides access to a full suite of banking services, including Deposits and fund Management, Money Transfers to Any Bank Accounts and mobile Wallets in Bangladesh, Bill Payments and mobile Recharge, Secured Loan Facility, Fixed Deposit, and DPS.

With this eKYC, the NRBs will now enjoy the freedom to open bank accounts and avail of necessary banking services anytime, anywhere, eliminating the traditional barriers associated with cross-border banking.
To cater to the needs of NRBs and their loved ones back home, BRAC Bank has launched two specialized products—Probashi Poribar and TARA Probashi Poribar Savings Accounts—designed exclusively for their families.
Probashi Poribar Savings accountholders will enjoy a host of benefits during the campaign period, including a 3% annual interest rate, monthly interest disbursement, Life Insurance coverage up to BDT 5 lac, and zero account maintenance charges.
The customers of the TARA Probashi Poribar Savings Account will be entitled to a range of privileges, including a 3.5% annual interest rate, monthly interest disbursement, Life Insurance coverage up to BDT 2 lac, Health Insurance facility up to BDT 50,000 yearly and zero account maintenance charges during the campaign period.
