Petter-Børre Furberg Takes Helm as Grameenphone Chairman1 min read
Grameenphone, the country’s telecommunication market leader has reportedly appointed Mr. Petter-Børre Furberg as its new chairman, effective immediately.
Boasting over twenty years of professional experience in the telecom sector, Furberg is well-equipped to lead the Grameenphone Board. Presently, Furberg oversees Telenor Asia and is an integral part of the Telenor Group Executive Leadership Team.
Since his induction into Telenor in 1998, Mr. Furberg has climbed the corporate ladder, undertaking various high-ranking roles within the organization. His previous designations include serving as Head of Telenor Nordics, Cluster Head for Emerging Asia, and being a key member of Telenor’s Group Executive Management team.

His leadership has been instrumental in Telenor’s business ventures across both Nordic and Asian regions, with CEO roles at Telenor Norway, Telenor Myanmar, and Grameenphone Bangladesh, and positions such as CFO and CMO at dtac Thailand.

Furberg’s journey with Telenor commenced in the finance wing of Telenor International in Norway.
Academically, he is an alumnus of the Norwegian School of Economics, holding a degree in Economics and Business Administration, and is recognized as a Certified European Financial Analyst (AFA/CEFA).
