Speed Encourages The Pursuit To Retain The Originality of Bengali2 min read
[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith the International Mother’s Language Day ahead, Speed has launched a new campaign to promote the use of Bengali words in its original form. In one of its videos, it shows how typing Bengali words in English completely changes how it is pronounced. Speed mocked this mismanagement of words through the song “ধন ধান্য পুষ্প ভরা”.
The motive of this campaign is to preserve the originality of the Bengali words. With increase of social media platforms, we are writing Bengali words in a distorted manner instead of using the Bengali letters itself. To encourage the people to put an end to this practice, Speed is hosting a campaign in the form of a competition titled ‘বাংলা লিখি বাংলায়’. The competition is based on ones Bengali typing skills. Upon participation, everyday the best 10 entrants will receive a case of speed cans and by the end of the competition the best 3 will receive 3 attractive smartphones.

Speed is doing a recommendable work in pursuit of retaining the austere method of writing Bengali words. Writing Bengali words in Bengali not only enables people to pronounce it correctly but also ornaments the beauty of the writing. The song choice was perfect portraying our love for the country. This language was earned through the sacrifices and blood shed of so many people. We as Bangladeshis can do the least to show some respect and retain its originality.
