Bangladesh Association of AdFilm and Content Producers Announces Indefinite Strike Stating 3 Major Demands
The Bangladesh Association of AdFilm and Content Producers (BAAcP) has announced an indefinite strike, starting from 1 September 2024, against advertising agencies and clients collaborating with production companies.
In a recent Facebook post, the organization highlighted that, despite ongoing negotiations, several critical issues remain unresolved. These include the settlement of previous dues, timely issuance of work orders, 75% advance payment, and payment of the remaining 25% within 45 days of billing.
“As Bangladesh undergoes widespread reforms, it is high time to reform our industry as well,” stated the Bangladesh Association of AdFilm and Content Producers in its Facebook post, outlining the rationale behind the initiative.
The post also mentioned that other associations, such as the Advertising & Filmmakers Association (ADFA), Bangladesh Alliance of Cinematographers (BAC), Post Productions Association of Bangladesh (PAB), Art Directors & Costume Designers Association of Bangladesh, BAAMS, makeup artists, production managers, light and camera operators, casting directors, and set builders, have expressed solidarity with BAAcP and are supporting this strike.
The organization urged all members to remain united in their efforts to secure these essential rights and to continue advocating until their demands are met.
BAAcP represents the interests of production companies, producers, and stakeholders in the audiovisual industry, including those involved in commercials, fiction, nonfiction, and other forms of content.
