Meghna Petroleum’s Profit Surges 66% in Q21 min read

State-run Meghna Petroleum posted a remarkable 66% year-on-year profit growth in the second quarter of fiscal year 2024-25, reflecting strong financial performance reportedly.

The company reported a profit of Tk 163.32 crore in the October-December quarter of 2024, a substantial increase from the previous year. Following the announcement, Meghna Petroleum’s shares gained 0.73% in mid-day trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange.

According to its financial statements, the company’s earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk 15.09 for the quarter, up from Tk 9.06 in the same period last year. For the first half of the fiscal year, EPS climbed to Tk 27.82, compared to Tk 17.48 a year earlier.

Additionally, the state-run oil marketing company’s net operating cash flow per share saw a significant turnaround, surging to Tk 158.78 in the July-December 2024 period, a stark contrast to the negative Tk 60.27 recorded last year.
