KSRM Launches Employee Pension Plan1 min read
KSRM, one of the country’s leading steel manufacturers, has introduced the national pension scheme for its officials and employees, making it the first industrial group in the nation to implement such a program. The initiative was unveiled on Saturday during a joint program organized by the Sitakunda Upazila Administration and KSRM. The event saw the participation of around 1,000 officers and employees from the KSRM Steel Plant in Sitakunda, who are now enrolled in the pension scheme. Plans are in place to gradually extend this benefit to all other staff members.
KSRM Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Shahriar Jahan Rahat spearheaded the initiative, following a proposal by Sitakunda Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) KM Rafiqul Islam. The company has committed to paying the first installment of the pension scheme for all its employees as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. Notable attendees at the event included UNO KM Rafiqul Islam, KSRM Director (Plant) Commodore (Retd) MS Karib, Deputy General Manager (HR & Administration) Md Wahiduzzaman, and Media Advisor Mizanul Islam. They inspected the program activities and highlighted the significance of the initiative.
In his address, UNO Rafiqul Islam praised KSRM’s financial support in launching the pension scheme, noting that it sets a remarkable example for other companies across the country. He emphasized that this initiative ensures financial security for the company’s staff, thereby contributing to their well-being. This pioneering move by KSRM is expected to inspire other industrial groups in the country to adopt similar pension schemes, thereby enhancing the financial stability and security of their workforce.
