The Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus is set to embark on a strategic four-day visit to China on March 26, aiming to secure major investments and encourage Chinese businesses to relocate their factories to Bangladesh reportedly.
In preparation for the high-profile trip, Dr. Yunus met with Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen on Sunday, discussing key priorities for the visit. Addressing the media at Dhaka’s Foreign Service Academy, Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed that attracting Chinese enterprises to Bangladesh was at the core of their talks.

A major highlight of the visit will be Dr. Yunus’s speech at the Boao Forum for Asia on March 27, a prestigious gathering of top Asian leaders and CEOs of global corporations. The visit is set to culminate on March 28 with a significant diplomatic engagement – a meeting between Dr. Yunus and Chinese President Xi Jinping, where both leaders are expected to discuss deepening economic ties between the two nations.
