BRAC Bank and BRAC University hosted the graduation ceremony for 29 women from the bank’s women entrepreneur accelerator programme, ‘Uddokta 101’, as stated in Press Release.

BRAC Bank’s Women Banking TARA runs its signature grooming initiative, ‘Uddokta 101’ to help women fulfil their entrepreneurial dreams. With the programme running at several universities, this has emerged as a platform for up-and-coming businesswomen in light of the rising interest in entrepreneurship among women in Bangladesh.

This comprehensive programme is aimed at facilitating promising entrepreneurs in honing their managerial and entrepreneurial skills to succeed in business ventures.

The graduation took place at the university campus on September 23, 2024. It marked the completion of a three-month certification course designed to develop and equip women entrepreneurs with essential business skills.

The program, which commenced in February 2024, offered a comprehensive curriculum with 12 modules covering areas such as business development, financial management, team building, mental health, and practical exposure through a business factory visit, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience for the participants.

Participants also had the opportunity to participate in a two-day fair at BRAC University, which was designed to provide them with market access and showcase their products and services.

During the graduation ceremony, the top three participants presented their business cases to the audience, demonstrating their skills and insights gained through the programme.

The graduates were introduced to two highly respected business experts, who will serve as their mentors during the upcoming three-month mentorship phase. This guidance, along with the skills they have acquired, will support the entrepreneurs in further developing and expanding their ventures, instilling confidence in their future success.

From BRAC Bank, Mohammad Jakirul Islam, Head of Strategy, Innovation, and New Business; and Khadija Mariam, Head of the Women Entrepreneur Cell; and from BRAC Business School, Professor Dr. Mohammad Mujibul Haque, Associate Dean; and Dr. Ekramul Islam, Assistant Professor, attended the ceremony.

The ‘Uddokta 101’ shows BRAC Bank’s strong commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and fostering inclusive and sustainable business growth in Bangladesh.
