Arup Haider, who previously served as the Head of Retail Banking and Senior Executive Vice President at City Bank, has been instrumental in the bank’s growth since joining in 2016. His tenure has seen significant advancements in the retail banking sector, where he revamped the bank’s credit and collection processes and took on the role of Head of Retail Banking in 2018.
Under his leadership, City Bank has solidified its position as a leader in the credit card business. Additionally, Arup has been a key player in the development and success of Citytouch, the bank’s digital banking platform. His strategic direction has made Citytouch one of the most popular digital platforms for retail banking, driving its future growth.
With over two decades of banking experience, Arup began his career as a Management Trainee Officer at Prime Bank in 2003. He later held significant roles at Brac Bank and Standard Chartered Bank, where he gained substantial expertise in SME underwriting and consumer credit. Arup Haider holds an Economics degree from the University of Calcutta and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration at Dhaka University.
